Pocket GForce
PocketGForce is an app dedicated to measuring how many G’s you are pulling when you race away from a standing start. Developed by Ikari over at XDA-Developers.com, the app is still a bit rough round the edges (it still needs a pretty UI and proper installer) but it does the job of measuring instantaneous acceleration and also the maximum achieved acceleration.

does it measure side to side?
Yes it does go the the website and check the new version whit better interface. ps im the developer :P
